Founding Engineer – Platform & Infrastructure

About the Opportunity

An early-stage startup is seeking a Founding Engineer to lead the design, build, and maintenance of its cloud platform. This foundational role offers the chance to architect and develop all cloud infrastructure and systems from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement core infrastructure components, including service meshes, traffic management, and observability tools.
• Develop and manage applications within cloud environments using container technologies.
• Utilize infrastructure-as-code tools to automate deployment and management processes.
• Oversee operating system issues, storage solutions, networking configurations, and high-availability clusters.
• Build and support CI/CD platforms, automate infrastructure needs, and maintain systems through patching, upgrades, and monitoring.
• Scale infrastructure on distributed systems to meet growing demands.

What We're Looking For

• Strong experience in platform and infrastructure engineering, with a background in DevOps practices.
• 6+ years of relevant experience in the field.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Rust, or C++.
• Experience deploying and managing container orchestration platforms.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and networking principles.

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• Familiarity with modern data storage formats and data engineering practices.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses and related technologies.
