Director of Health Information Management (HIM) - Hospital Operations

We're seeking an experienced Director of Health Information Management (HIM) to join our 474-bed facility at Good Samaritan Hospital. In this leadership role, you'll oversee facility-based HIM operations while collaborating with our Regional HIM Director to implement strategic initiatives and maintain operational excellence.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage day-to-day HIM department operations, including staff supervision and workflow optimization
• Drive implementation and oversight of Computer Assisted Coding (CAC) initiatives
• Manage unbilled accounts resolution process and physician query systems
• Oversee release of information processes and compliance
• Coordinate with facility leadership and medical staff on HIM initiatives
• Maintain electronic health record systems (HPF/MPF) and related workflows
• Direct medical records management, including storage, retrieval, and destruction protocols
• Monitor departmental performance metrics and implement improvement strategies

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field
• RHIA or RHIT certification
• Minimum 3 years of HIM Director experience in a large hospital setting
• Strong knowledge of healthcare compliance and regulatory requirements
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills
• Experience with electronic health record systems and CAC implementation
