Layer Maintenance Technician

Sonstegard Farms – Archer, IA

This position will assist in the maintenance of facilities, grounds, and equipment of a poultry farm.

Full-time, Day Shift. Weekends and Overtime!

How you'll spend your time:

• Perform an extensive range of work in the repair and general maintenance of facilities, grounds, and equipment under general supervision.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment and buildings.
• Movement of live birds and spent hens.
• Haul manure and eggshells.
• Manure removal in barns.
• Ensure safe use of equipment.
• Perform other maintenance duties as requested.

• Must be willing to work weekends and overtime.
• Basic reasoning and thinking skills.
• Manage multiple tasks and projects.
• Follow and adhere to standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and safety requirements.
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Lift products and materials ranging in weight from 20 – 75 lbs on a continuous basis.
• Repetitive grasping, twisting, pulling, and pushing.
• Standing for the duration of the shift.
• Working around loud equipment.
