Job Summary:
The Liquor Store Assistant Manager will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and managing inventory and staff. The Assistant Manager will contribute to maintaining a well-organized, safe, and profitable store while adhering to all local and state alcohol regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with product selections, answering questions, and addressing concerns. Ensure a welcoming and professional environment at all times.
Staff Supervision: Assist in supervising and training store staff, ensuring they understand store policies, customer service standards, and product knowledge. Provide leadership and motivation to the team to achieve sales goals.
Inventory Management: Help manage inventory levels by tracking stock, placing orders, and conducting regular inventory counts. Ensure products are displayed properly and are well-stocked on the shelves.
Sales Support: Support sales targets and develop promotional strategies to increase sales. Assist with setting up product displays, organizing sales events, and handling pricing.
Store Operations: Help with the daily operations of the store, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and maintaining a clean and organized store. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and alcohol regulations.
Financial Management: Assist in the preparation of budgets and reports. Monitor sales performance, analyze trends, and identify areas for improvement.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all transactions, sales, and store practices adhere to local, state, and federal laws regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations and ensure staff are properly trained.
Problem Solving: Address any customer or staff issues promptly and effectively. Assist in resolving conflicts, providing feedback, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the store manager/owner and team to create a positive, productive work environment. Foster strong communication and teamwork across all store functions.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in retail management or related fields is a plus.
2+ years of experience in retail, preferably with experience in the liquor or beverage industry a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a team.
In-depth knowledge of alcoholic beverages, including types, brands, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused attitude.
Spanish Bilingual is a PLUS
Pass background check.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift.
Comfort with working in a retail environment and interacting with customers regularly.
