About the role:

As a Mechanic B you will perform a variety of maintenance functions in the plant. Maintain, install, repair, modify and rebuild machinery, buildings and facilities. Make repairs to tools and equipment. Move, install and adjust fixtures, motors and other electrical/mechanical equipment.

You will report to the Maintenance Team Manager and be located at Columbia, SC. You will support this role 100% onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

\n
• Perform tasks described for Maintenance Mechanic C or Maintenance Mechanic
\n
• Work from drawings, sketches or verbal instructions from manager.
\n
• Install, maintain, repair and rebuild shop machinery and plant equipment including pumps, motors, furnaces, blowers, conveyors to include furnace rebricking.
\n
• Maintain and repair plant buildings and facilities
\n
• Maintain, repair, and diagnose malfunctions on all mobile equipment such as hand trucks and forklift trucks.
\n
• Perform preventive maintenance on all machines and equipment.
\n
• Perform metal burning in assigned tasks.
\n
• Install and repair environmental-control systems, using knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout.
\n
• Cut, assemble and install piping for all plant applications.
\n
• Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads.
\n
• Operate equipment such as power saws and drill presses to make, repair and modify parts.
\n
• Use computer systems.
\n
• Prepare reports, requests.
\n
• Maintain equipment and leave work area in a clean condition.
\n
• Follow accountability, criticality, safety, security and hygiene procedures.
\n
• Perform traceability function.
\n

Qualifications:

\n
• High school graduate or equivalent.
\n
• 5 years maintenance related experience or 2 years as a Maintenance Mechanic C.
\n
• Must complete required interview process to demonstrate basic mechanic skills.
