We’re seeking a Port Manager to join the team! Work Remote! Travel as needed!
In this role, you'll be responsible for managing and coordinating vessel surveys, cargo inspections, personnel scheduling, and compliance activities at ports nationwide and globally. You’ll serve as a key liaison between field staff, vessel agents, terminals, and clients to ensure smooth, accurate, and compliant operations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform and oversee cargo surveys (bulk, breakbulk, containerized, liquid) and draft surveys on barges and vessels
• Ensure compliance with port regulations, client specs, and internal quality standards
• Collect, handle, and manage bulk cargo samples for quality control
• Review and verify documentation from internal teams and subcontractors
• Coordinate field staff scheduling, travel, and job assignments to maintain operational coverage
• Manage procurement, maintenance, and inventory of equipment and supplies
• Provide field training and monitor employee performance and safety
• Communicate with vessel agents, terminals, and global Control Union offices
• Track and approve employee hours, expenses, and job performance
• Respond to client concerns, ensuring satisfaction and continuous improvement
• Handle documentation, shipping of samples, and records management

Requirements:

• U.S. citizenship or applicable work visa
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a TWIC card
• Able to lift 50 lbs and work at heights over 6 feet
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Office 365, and Outlook
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under pressure
• Math proficiency and comfort with shipboard terminology

Preferred:

• Marine background or previous port operations experience
• Reliable transportation
