Department Overview:

We are looking for dedicated individuals to support our Legal and Compliance Departments, where you will play a key role in healthcare regulatory compliance, contract management, risk mitigation, policy development, and legal research. You will also provide administrative support to the legal team while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday
40-50 hours per week
Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Support:

Manage and organize files for the Legal and Compliance teams.
Keep track of key deadlines and calendar entries for litigation and legal matters.
Assist with various administrative tasks as needed.
Legal Research and Document Preparation:

Conduct legal research on compliance, healthcare regulations, and litigation matters.
Help prepare legal documents, memoranda, and reports.
Assist with creating and formatting presentations and other documents.
Litigation and Dispute Resolution:

File documents in appropriate state and federal courts, and administrative agencies.
Support mediation, arbitration, and litigation by revising documents, preparing exhibits, and ensuring compliance with court procedures.
Compliance and Regulatory Support:

Assist with regulatory filings such as license renewals and government-mandated reports.
Support ongoing compliance monitoring activities.
Educate team members on relevant laws and regulations impacting the healthcare industry.
Communication and Collaboration:

Maintain professional communication with internal staff and external parties.
Assist with HR investigations and other legal matters as directed.
Provide general support to the Legal and Compliance teams as required.
General Requirements:

Punctuality and regular attendance are essential.
Occasional travel may be required for trial, arbitration, or litigation support.
Comfortable with digital tools such as Monday.com, Google Suite, Slack, and MS Office products.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift or move up to 20 lbs.
Prolonged use of technology-based tools and applications.
Effective communication with clients, vendors, and team members.
Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute, and ability to work long hours in front of a computer.
Reliable transportation may be required for document filing and mailing services.
Requirements and Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 years of experience with litigation in Michigan, preferably with a large law firm.
Strong experience with both Federal and State court processes.
Excellent proofreading and typing skills.
Prior law firm or litigation experience is required.
Familiarity with modern litigation technology and e-discovery tools.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of the Google Suite, document review software, and project management tools like Monday.com is preferred.
Familiarity with healthcare organizations, physician licensing, and related compliance requirements is a plus.
