St. Charles High School Head Girls Flag Football Coach Join to apply for the St. Charles High School Head Girls Flag Football Coach role at CHARLES COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS Overview In accordance with education-based athletics, Head Coaches will develop an effective coaching program plan which includes skill development, practice planning, supervision of all levels of the sport, focusing on individual and team growth while instilling the highest ideals of character. The head coach will effectively communicate with student-athletes, parents, and administration. Job Description Terms of Employment: 12-month Exemption Status: Non-Exempt Position Type: Temporary Stipend: Yes Qualifications Teachers or certificated professional educators employed by the local Board of Education, or those certifiable as professional educators by the State Department of Education according to 13A.12.01. Credentialed coaches must meet the following: Eligible for a Maryland certificate under COMAR 13A.12.01 Possess MPSSAA/MSDE Coaching Certification Completed two years of successful coaching as an emergency coach Spent the previous year as a successful emergency coach at the school of hire in the position of hire Essential Job Functions Provide all coaching certifications required by MPSSAA and Charles County Public Schools to the athletic director. Complete necessary forms (eligibility roster, player address, accident report, etc.). Ensure only eligible student-athletes participate in tryouts and have proper paperwork. Issue equipment only to cleared athletes. Conduct pre-season meetings with students and parents to review responsibilities and expectations. Manage equipment, including repairs and inventory. Supervise assistant coaches and assign duties. Make recommendations for program improvements and equipment needs. Ensure all coaches are approved and cleared by Human Resources. Review rules with staff, manage equipment, and conduct evaluations. Prepare a budget request for the next season. Environmental Factors & Physical Requirements Position requires ambulatory skills, ability to stand, walk, kneel, and lift light to medium weights (10-50 pounds), with good hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and visual acuity.
